Public Domain Super Heroes

I'm very confused by the point of this category.  The list of "Protagonists" will ultimately be almost identical to the list of "Heroes."  There are very few characters (if any) in the Heroes category who were not the stars of their own stories (and this category lists open source characters who've never appeared in a published story).  It is possible for a villain to be a protagonist, but extremely rare in any fiction that has fallen into the public domain.  There are some anti-heroes like Arsene Lupin and Sniffer who were protagonists, but true villains, like Dracula and Fu Manchu are really NOT the protagonists of the stories that bear their names.  I can't think of one where the story is actually about them and told from their point of view.  I think the site would be better served by a category called "Villain and Anti-Hero Protagonists" than one that replicates the list of 1000+ Heroes listed on the site.  It just doesn't make a lot of sense to have virtually identical categories.  151.151.109.25 23:04, July 2, 2013 (UTC)Freeuniverse

Yep, I think you've hit it on the nose. I was confused by that too and was automatically putting both categories in all the heroes. Sidekicks, for example, would be heroes but not protagonists (except in the cases of characters like Rainbow Boy or Roy the Super-Boy who had their own stories as well). Villains like Miss Shady would be protagonists but, not heroes. I'm gonna start correcting that now.Cebr1979 (talk) 20:11, July 25, 2013 (UTC)
