Hexmaster is a collector of books of magic and arcane knowledge. His first appearance has him narrating the tale of a criminal named Sutton and his acquiring the Devil's Notebook by robbing a book dealer named Winkler. The book's pages are blank, yet when the pages are drawn on and then erased, the subject of the art dies.
