Ships mysteriously disappear near the planet Marduk. Marduk is five times the size of Earth, but has extremely low gravity. Captain Larq of the Lunex Luna sends a message as his craft is pulled in by Marduk. Commodore Rex Clive and Adjutant Speed Lansing investigate, following the Staritania as it's pulled in as well.
In the center of Marduk's hollow outer shell is a station, the Karmud Globe, where all the trapped craft are moored. The trap is devised by Karmud, the Master of Marduk. Stella Dawn was on the Staritania. She meets Rex and Speed, and they devise a way to defeat Karmud by stopping the spinning ring around the spherical station. The Space Rangers are called in, and Karmud is driven out.
