Lillian Wytes is the niece of Doctor John Wytes. Curious as to an urn in his study, Lillian asks her uncle about it. John relates the tale of when he was studying voodoo in the jungle. One day there, Clifton Shaw came to ask him advice on a threatening letter he received. The doctor told him to ignore it. When Clifton left, he saw a black tiger cub. When he approached it, it turned into a beautiful, frightening woman who was Tiger's Paw and responsible for the death note. She scratches Clifton, killing him. Thus began the strange tale of The Tiger's Paw.
