Origin
Hephaestus (or Vulcan in Roman myth) was the god of technology, blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes in Greco-Roman mythology. He was the son of Hera and Zeus, and the only member of the Twelve Olympians to be ugly and crippled. He served as blacksmith to the Olympians and forged many of their weapons. His wife was Venus, the goddess of love.
