Golden Age Origin

Perry Chase was the son of the publisher of the Daily Express. He wanted to be a reporter and begged his father for a chance. His Father told him to continue to cover reporting on high society's doings because only real men can be reporters and his seemingly wimpy and unintelligent son was not a real man. However, little did his father know that his son was in fact the Press Guardian, defender of the first amendment and crimefighter. He had no powers, but he was a skilled fighter and carried two handguns.

Golden Age Appearances

  • Pep Comics #2-11

  • Press Guardian is a retooled version of Falcon who appears in issue #1 of Pep Comics.
  • Press Guardian was not revived by Archie or DC comics unlike other MLJ superheroes.
