Golden Age Origin
Spencer Steel was an ace detective of the New York police force who fought criminals such as Ratty Morone, Lucky Lucifer, Mouthpiece Moffitt, the Professor, and the Berge Gang with the help of fellow officers Chief Jackson and Detective Mike McMurphy.
Spencer was married to Nora Steel who often helped him on his cases. They had a newborn baby boy, Spencer Steel Jr. who gets kidnapped in Fight Comics #7. Junior was taken by in order to block his father from testifying against the Berge Gang. However, Spencer was able to not only cautch the crooks but also rescue his son.
