What constitutes "improper copyright notice" here?
Was the copyright on Blue beetle v2#1 completely absent? I know it's missing from the scans... but the scans also omit the IFC for most issues. On some issues were it's present the IFC (BBv2#5 for example) does have a notice of "international copyright secured," but omits the year and title/issue number, which are instead presented in a separate indica on the first page. (The first notice is actually a "subscription information" notice with the copyright claim shoehorned into it without any of the information needed to make the claim valid.) This "split notice" would render the copyright, invalid, yes? (And it looks like this was done for most of the Dan Garett issues.)
My scans of Blue Beetle v2#1 show no indicia at all on the first page, but there's no scan of the Inside-Front-Cover. Can someone confirm for me, just for my sanity, that the notice on the IFC is either missing or flawed? (I'm using the Fox Features Blue Beetle in a book I'm writing but I reference the fact there are other Blue Beetles on parallel worlds. I want to know if I can use this guy outright of if I need to be cute about it. I'd love to be able to use the name "Kaji Dha.") -Derik (talk) 04:39, October 19, 2013 (UTC)

- Nevermind, I see here that yes, the volume and issue # have to be with the copyright for the notice to be valid, so splitting them breaks the (c) on many Charlton books even nonwithstanding that the Charlton IFC notices omit the (required) name of the owner, instead merely listing subscription managers and advertising contacts.
