Wagner is a henchman for Vincent Cartley. He is told to circle the moon in his spaceship and blast Larry Winters if Winters beats Cartley to the moon of Saturn where the remarkable metal dubbed asteroidium can be mined. Before Wagner can do so, he is captured by an alien craft planning to use the metal to revolutionize space travel.
After Wagner informs Cartley of the aliens' intentions, Cartley shoots and kills Wagner so the latter can't reveal the information.
